Get rid of keloids by using these natural remedies

Keloids are considered as a kind of scar that appears on a healed spot on your skin. These raised scars tend to grow much larger than the primal injury which caused the scar.

Anything which leaves your skin scared like a cut, a burn or in some cases even severe acne can be the cause for keloids. Among other things tattoos and body piercings may also be the cause for keloids, as well as scars we get from undergoing a surgical procedure.

Keloids have proven itself to be very unpredictable because there is no strict rule to when it develops. In certain cases, it shows up as late as 3 months after the injury and unfortunately, keloids can continue to grow for years if not treated.

Keloids symptoms

Here are some of the most common indicators of keloids:

–         A purple, pink, red scar

The color of a keloid darkens over time and you end up having a raised scar with a lightly colored center and darker borders. Therefore, make sure you pay attention and check your scar regularly for any changes.

–         Grows slowly

Keloids are hard to spot because it usually takes up from three months to a year for them to show the first signs. Once the process has begun it can take several weeks or months for them to grow and this growth is very slow and steady.

–         Cause tenderness, itching, and pain

It is not uncommon for keloids to be painful or tender at touch while they are growing and some may even experience severe itchiness. However, once the keloid stops growing these symptoms disappear simultaneously.
