Cracked heels isn’t something we read about on the Internet – it’s a common issue for both men and women, even though, it seems to affect women more often. This is because most of us find ourselves on our feet throughout the entire day. A survey showed that 20 percent of the adults in the United states have cracked skin on their feet. If you notice dry and flaking skin, along with deep cracks in the skin, then you probably have cracked heels as well. For most people, having cracked heels isn’t really an issue. However, for some it causes pain, especially if the cracks as deep. As cracked skin rubs against the footwear, even walking may become uncomfortable. This is why it is important to know how to deal with cracked heels effectively and quickly. Here’s an old, homemade remedy that will help you get rid of those cracks:
Step 1 – Warm water treatment
- Pumice stone
- 2 spoons of salt
- 2 spoons of baking soda
- Lukewarm water
Simply pour the water in tub and add the soda and the salt. Soak your feet for 15 minutes. After than, pat them dry and rub gently with the pumice stone to remove the dead skin later.
Step 2 – Scrub
- 2 spoons of oil
Add the oil and the sugar into a bowl and rub your feet with the scrub you just prepared for 5 minutes. Then, wash the feet with water.
Step 3 – Moisturizer
In a bowl add the candle and the oil and pour in hot water. Then, let it cool. After it does, use the foot cream you just prepared by applying it on your feet. Cover with socks afterwards.
