The Most Popular and Effective Homemade Skin Lightening Face Masks!

The most awesome homemade skin lightening masks will give you unblemished, smooth skin with a soft glow. The masks, of course, are free of chemicals, which means they can’t cause severe allergic reactions or damage your skin.

Method 1: Turmeric Face Mask

Things you’ll need:

  • Organic raw honey (acts as humectant) – 1 tablespoon
  • Organic turmeric powder (lightens and brightens skin) – ½ teaspoon
  • Rose water (tightens and tones skin), as required
  • Freshly-squeezed lemon juice (natural bleaching agent) – ½ a lemon
  • Grund oatmeal flour (gently exfoliates) – 3 tablespoons

Preparation and Use:

Add 1 tablespoon of honey and 3 tablespoons of ground oatmeal flour in a mixing bowl. Mix it well and apply the mask on your face using a cosmetic brush. Leave it on for 15-30 minutes and wash it off with warm water.

Method 2: Rice Flour and Honey Face Mask

Things you’ll need:

  • Raw honey (acts as humectant) – 2 tablespoons
  • Ground white rice flour (nourishes and brightens skin) – 1 tablespoon

Preparation and Use:

Add 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 tablespoon of ground rice in a mixing bowl. Apply the mask on your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. To wipe off the mask use a washcloth dipped in warm water.

Method 3: Aloe Vera Gel Mask

Things you’ll need:

  • Freshly-squeezed lemon juice (natural bleaching agent) – 2 teaspoons
  • Fresh aloe vera gel (soothes and lightens skin) – 1 tablespoon
  • Extra-virgin olive oil (contains vitamin E) – 1 teaspoon
  • Rose water (tightens and tones skin), as required
  • Sandalwood powder (soothes skin) – 2 tablespoons

Preparation and Use:

Add 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and 2 tablespoon of sandalwood powder in a mixing bowl. Add olive oil, rose water and lemon juice as well and mix everything well.  Apply the mask on your face with a cosmetic brush and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.

Method 4: Cocoa–Honey Face Mask

Things you’ll need:

  • Greek yogurt (rich in nutrients and lactic acid) – 3 tablespoons
  • Cocoa powder (nourishes and rejuvenates skin) – 2 teaspoons
  • Ripe banana (nourishes and moisturizes) – ½ a ripe banana
  • Freshly-squeezed lemon juice (natural bleaching agent) – 1 teaspoon
  • Raw honey (acts as humectant) – 1 teaspoon

Preparation and Use:

Chop the banana into pieces and mash it into pulp in a mixing bowl.  Add 3 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, lemon, and honey. Blend thoroughly. You can apply the mask 2-3 times a week using a cosmetic brush.

Method 5: Coconut Oil Face Mask

Things you’ll need:

  • Freshly-squeezed lemon juice (natural bleaching agent) – ½ teaspoon
  • Extra-virgin coconut oil (anti-acne and skin nourishing properties) – 1 tablespoon
  • Raw honey (acts as humectant) – 2 teaspoons

Preparation and Use:

Add 1 tablespoon of solidified extra-virgin coconut oil,  2 teaspoons of raw honey, and ½ a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice in a bowl. Whisk up the ingredients. Apply a thin later using a cosmetic brush and leave the mask on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Method 6: Coffee–Clay Face Mask

Things you’ll need:

  • Tea tree essential oil (antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties) – 2 to 3 drops
  • Natural earth clay (absorbs oil and impurities) – 2 tablespoons
  • Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (anti-aging and antimicrobial) – 1 teaspoon
  • Coffee grounds (nourishes and gently exfoliates skin) – 2 tablespoons
  • Rose water (tightens and tones skin), as required.

Preparation and Use:

Add 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds and 2 tablespoon of natural earth clay in a bowl. Add the tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, and rose water and mix thoroughly. Apply the mask using  cosmetic brush and make sure you avoid the sensitive areas around the eyes.  Leave the mask on for 20-25 minutes and wash it off with warm water.
