A natural homemade deodorant is a great thing to try out. Commercial deodorants contain toxic chemical fragrances, parabens, and aluminum-based compounds. Thus, you can keep your body free from toxins by trying some new.
Coconut oil fight off odor-causing bacteria and has antifungal and antibacterial properties.
Baking soda is amazing when it comes to absorbing bad odors. Additionally, it prevents infection and neutralize your pH.
Shea butter protects the skin from dryness and is an amazing moisturizer.
Beeswax keeps the deodorant more solid and doesn’t allow it to melt.
Cornstarch absorbs moisture and it also lacks scent.
Essential oils, of course, have excellent healing properties.
Things you’ll need:
- Beeswax, grated or pellets (optional)– 3 tablespoons
- Baking soda– 1 tablespoon
- Coconut oil– 1/3 cup
- Cornstarch– 1/3 cup
- Shea butter– 2 tablespoons
- Essential oil of your choice – 10 to 15 drops
- Deodorant containers
Put 3 tsp of beeswax in a double boiler and add 2 tbs of shea butter.
Blend in 1/3 cup of coconut oil.
Let the butter, oil, and the beeswax to melt completely. When you remove it from heat, add 1 tbs of baking soda.
Finally, add 1/3 cup of cornstarch and blend everything together. Add 10-15 drops of essential oil to fuse in the aroma.
Pour the mixture into deodorant sticks. The deodorant will be ready for use after a couple of hours.
