This homemade papaya face mask nourishes the skin and has anti-aging properties. Papaya is a fruit that has antioxidant properties and is rich in vitamins A,C, and E. It helps remove blemishes, dark spots, removes acne and keeps the skin hydrated and soft. Thanks to the previously mentioned anti-aging properties, papaya maintains a youthful skin.
The face mask also uses honey and lemon juice. Honey keeps the skin hydrated and helps retain moisture. Additionally, it fight bacteria that cause acne as it is antimicrobial. Lemon juice rejuvenates the skin and is loaded with vitamin C. It combats acne and reduces excess oil.
How to make the papaya face mask
Things you need:
- 1/4 ripe papaya
- a knife
- a bowl
- a blender
- measuring spoons
Method of preparation:
Chop the papaya into pieces and put them in a blender. Add 1/2 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of honey. Blend everything together.
How to use the mask?
Wash your face with water and apply the mask on the neck and the face. Let it stay for 15-20 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. It’s best to use this mask twice a week so, make sure you don’t overdo it.
- You can try steaming the skin on your face before applying the mask. It will open up the pores.
- Make sure you use raw,organic honey as the processed one has additives and can irritate the skin.
- If the papaya is mushy and soft, use a fork to mash it up instead of putting it in a blender.
- You can rub the peels of the papaya on your skin as well, for several minutes, and wash everything off. The peels are also great for the skin.
