Many proponents claimed that it had changed their lives. The reason why people with specific blood types process food differently is because they have certain stomach enzymes. For example, intestinal alkaline phosphatase is an enzyme found in people with blood groups B and O, soliticing a diet that includes lean animal protein and healthy fats.

BLOOD TYPE A

People with blood type A are efficient processors of carbohydrates. If a person with this blood type switches from eating meat to becoming herbivore, they would find the transition quite a difficult task. However, there will be results regarding weight loss and increase in energy levels.

Type A’s have naturally higher levels of cortisol – the stress hormone. This can lead to disrupted sleep patterns, OCD, brain fog, and fat gain. It is important for Type A’s not to skip meals and maintain a regular eating schedule. Eating many light meals throughout the day may be the best option for Type A’s.

BLOOD TYPE O

This blood type is the only one that contains two opposing antibodies, which makes it the universal donor. However, these people are susceptible to stomach ulcers and thyroid issues. The good news is Type O’s efficiently process both fat and protein. This makes the absorption of calcium and processing simple carbohydrates easier. It’s best to limit alcohol intake and caffeine as Type O’s are linked to hyperactivity, tantrums, and bots of anger. Thus, they should opt for intense exercises that will tire them.

BLOOD TYPE B

Type O and A are at the opposites ends of the spectrum and Type B is right in the middle of it. It requires a balance between vegetarian and meat food. This blood type, according to D’amo tens to adapt to altitude better than the others.

However, these people produce higher levels of cortisol in stressful situation and are susceptible to auto-immune disorders. People with this blood type should avoid foods like wheat, corn, tomatoes, and lentils peanuts as they result in low blood sugar and fatigue.

BLOOD TYPE AB

The rarest blood type, Type AB draws both pros and cons from each type – Type A and Type B. These people have low-stomach acid levels, which means caffeine and alcohol should be avoided, as well are cured and smoked meats. When in need of protein, opt for seafood and Type AB’s definitely benefit from eating several smaller meals throughout the day.
