Here are 10 natural remedies that can help you get rid of this issue.

  • 1. Orange Peel

High in vitamin C, orange peels can remove the yellow stains from the nails. Just rub some fresh orange peel on the nails, 2-3 times a day. You can also mix some water and 3 teaspoons of orange peel powder to create a thick mixture. Apply it on the nails and let it stay for 10 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

  • 2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can reduce discoloration of the nails. It also has anti-fungal properties which means it can also help in treating infections and can stimulate nail growth.

Mix 1/2 a cup of hot water with 1/2 a cup of apple cider vinegar. Soak your nails into the solution for 20 minutes. Clean the nails afterwards by using a clean, dry towel.

  • 3. Denture Cleaning Tablets

Dissolve 3 denture cleaning tablets in warm water and soak your nails for 15 minutes. After you pat the nails dry, apply some moisturizer.

  • 4. Baking Soda

Mix 1 tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 2.5 tablespoons of baking soda. Apply it on the nails with cotton swabs and leave them on for 4 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

  • 5. Lemon

Lemons are excellent bleaching agents and they will easily get rid of the yellow stains.

Soak your nails into a  1/2 bowl of fresh lemon juice  for 10 minutes. Then, using a toothbrush, scrub the yellow stains off the nails . Wash the hands with warm water and don’t forget to apply some moisturizer.

You can also try soaking the nails into a bowl of water with some drops of lemon in it. The procedure is the same.

  • 6. Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide will remove the yellow stains on the nails, however, it can dehydrate the skin so make sure you always apply moisturizer after using it.

Add 3-4 tablespoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide into 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Soak the nails in the solution for a couple of minutes and scrub the nails after with a soft toothbrush.

  • 7. Whitening Toothpaste

Apply the toothpaste on the nails and let it sit for 7-10 minutes. Then, scrub the nails with a brush and wipe them with cotton balls.

  • 8. Tea Tree Oil

Apply several drop of tea tree oil on the nails and let it stay for several minutes. Wash it off with warm water. You can do this twice a day.

You can also mix tea tree oil with olive oil and follow the same method.

  • 9. Listerine

If the yellow stains are caused by a fungal infection, then Listerine is the way to go. Soak the nails in Listerine for half an hour. Do this 7 days and then take a 7 day break before doing it again.

  • 10. Juniper Berries

Add  1/2 tablespoon of crushed juniper berries  into water and soak your nails into the mixture for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and apply moisturizer.

Do not use more than once a week nail polish remover on your nails, and use a less harsh remover by choosing one that does not contain acetone.
